Sugar Hill Retreat Bed and Breakfast is a restored early 1900's farm house that was moved from the farming community near Oldenburg where it had served as the residence of the Henry Eilers Family, to Carmine in rural central Texas.
This home provides a choice of four spacious bedrooms each decorated in themes from that era. Two full baths serve the needs of guests, giving them the choice of showering or bathing in the luxury of the claw footed Victorian tub. It's all comfortably controlled with central heat and air.

After a cozy sleep under grandma's quilt, head down to a country breakfast.

Overnight guests are served a full breakfast prepared on sight and served in the dining area. Possible treats such as Crescent Roll Strata, Wild Rice with Scrambled Gees and Him, Pecan Pie Bar Cookies or perhaps Ham and Potatoes

Space is adequate for small luncheons or brunches with meals served from the country kithcen or catered for special occasions.
A separate cottage on the farm site near the small lake has a kitchenette, sleeps six and comes with linens and utensils.
Carmine is located in northwest Fayette County on U. S. 290 between Brenham and Giddings. Even though the population is small, the city provides a city park, local stores and services, and numerous antique shops -- including a fifteen-dealer mall.
